FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CLEVELAND, OH - On August 2, Esperanza holds an
art opening by Esperanza youth artists in collaboration with the Beck
Center for the Arts and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. The show, titled
"Producers of Culture," opens Friday, August 2nd from 5-9 pm at Bruno
Casiano Gallery, 5304 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44102, (216)
346-6562.

"Producers of Culture" consists of a tile "education wall" containing
the artists' vision of what education "should be," and thirteen
separate visual art pieces that explore each artist's feelings in
response to interviewing a senior citizen and comparing their elder's
culture and heritage to their own. The works depict both the
generational divide that many youth feel and the impressive unity of
values and experiences across generations and cultures.

The entire youth program summer experience was facilitated by
professional artist Martinez E-B Garcias, Esperanza Program
Coordinator. Martinez E.B. considers himself to be a conceptual artist
because his intent is to introduce to his audience a new way of seeing
or understanding urban life, by re-contextualizing certain signs and
symbols found in the inner-city (martinezeb.com).

For further information, please contact Esperanza's executive
director, Victor Ruiz, at (216) 651-7178 or by email at
victor@esperanzainc.org<mailto:victor@esperanzainc.org>.
